On 6 February, the E-BoP team took part in the workshop Work & Society: The Contribution of Labour Law – A Conversation with Adelle Blackett, hosted by the labour law team of the UMR 7354 DRES (CNRS – University of Strasbourg) and co-organised by Mélanie Schmitt and Marco Rocca, our PI. Organised to mark the visit of Professor Adelle Blackett (McGill University) to Strasbourg, the workshop was structured around four thematic panels and designed to foster in-depth discussion and exchange.

As part of the panel on Informal Work, Domestic Work and Migration, our PhD student Catharina Lopes Scodro presented a paper drawing on her empirical research on au pairing. Her presentation examined the meanings attributed to written contracts by au pairs, the terms, conditions and omissions contained in these individual contracts, and the normative characterisations they produce. The panel also featured a presentation by Mauro Pucheta (University of Kent) on Informal Work and Human Rights in theAmericas: Strengthening Inter-American Jurisprudence ThroughILO Labour Standards, and was chaired by our PI, who also acted as discussant.
